Our School Guardian Program is highly regarded by both staff and families because it helps provide both a secure and supportive learning environment for our students. Through strong connections with students and consistent campus visibility, our Guardians play a critical role in physical security measures across every school.

The Citrus County School District proudly partners with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office each spring to host a 144-hour Guardian Certification Training. Selected applicants are hired on a temporary basis to complete this training. Upon successful completion and certification, candidates are eligible for hire as full-time openings become available.
